Apple’s Theatrical Releases: How it is Boosting Movie Theater Stocks

by admin

Apple CEO Tim Cook wants everyone to go watch movies at the theater! As part of this plan, Apple will be investing up to one billion dollars each year on new theatrical film releases, with fifteen titles per year. This is a great way for Apple to become more popular in Hollywood, and it can even get people to sign up for Apple TV+ after the movie has been released in theaters. The news about this idea has already caused movie theater stocks to go up.

After a big announcement, stocks for movie theaters received an increase in value. AMC went up by 4%, IMAX stock grew 5%, and Cinemark got the biggest jump of 10%. It makes sense that Apple could bring more people to the theaters because famous stars like Jennifer Aniston, Denzel Washington, Jason Momoa, and even Timothée Chalamet who is known for playing Willy Wonka have been featured in their movies and TV shows. Investors were paying attention to these changes so they could benefit from them.

Many in the movie industry are reportedly drawn to Apple because they are offering movies a theatrical run of at least one month. This means that the work they create will have more potential to be viewed by many people and make a bigger impact, which can benefit their career. Also, some of these projects already involve famous actors like Leonardo DiCaprio (Star in “Killers of the Flower Moon”) and Academy Award Winning Joker Star Joaquin Phoenix (“Napoleon”).

The multilingual series “Drops of God” is coming to Apple TV+ this April! So, don’t forget to check it out!

Apple has always released movies in theaters but it was only for a short period of time so that their titles could be eligible for awards. This is how people were able to watch The Tragedy of Macbeth and CODA in theaters. But now, the company doesn’t just want to be eligible anymore, they want to show they can compete with other huge movie studios.

Apple plans to spend a lot of money on marketing their own movies. This means creating trailers and sending stars to different places to promote the movie, having press events, and other stuff that all costs a lot of money. Big studios usually pay for this expense and they only do it for their biggest movies.

Recently, Apple TV+ released Sharper, a thriller starring Julianne Moore, Sebastian Stan, and Justice Smith. The movie may be really popular if they market it more. That’s why Apple spent a billion dollars to hopefully make Sharper and its other movies more famous. If you want to watch the trailer click on the link below!
