Eight years after his last movie, Cameron Crowe who won an Academy Award is getting ready to come back to filmmaking. According to Jeff Sneider from Above the Line news service, Crowe has taken two years to create a new project with his friend Joni Mitchell about her life and music as a singer-songwriter. Crowe will write and direct it, and he will put together a team with Greg Mariotti of Vinyl Films for producing the movie.
Cameron Crowe is making a movie about the legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. We don’t know too much about it yet, but we do know that it will be different from other musical biopics because Cameron and Joni have been good friends for many years. Over the years, Cameron has interviewed Joni for Rolling Stone magazine and even made an article to celebrate her album ‘Blue’. The movie focuses on Joni’s life and will have multiple actresses playing her at different stages in her life, though it should still feel personal because it is based on Cameron and Joni’s relationship.
Mitchell has made an amazing life for ourselves! She started out singing in clubs in Toronto and now has 10 Grammy Awards! Her most well-known songs are “Both Sides Now,” “River,” “Big Yellow Taxi” and “A Case of You.” She’s not only a great singer, but she also designs her own album covers. At 79 years old, she’s still performing and is admired around the world as one of the best musicians ever!
