After a long time without directing, action star Donnie Yen is back at it with an imminent Chinese movie called Sakra. Furthermore, he will be taking part in the action-packed sequences of the movie as the main hero Qiao Feng and before its premiere on April 14th, our exclusive trailer for this epic has been released! So get ready for some thrilling fight scenes when Sakra premieres soon!
Sakra is a story about Feng’s journey to find the truth behind his parents’ murder. In this story, there was unrest in the Song Dynasty caused by the murder. Everyone wanted Feng’s head for his part in it and he had no time to mourn or even take care of himself. So instead he chose to fight to prove that he didn’t do anything wrong and fulfill his dad’s wishes.
The scenes in the footage look really exciting! They show Yen taking on multiple enemies at once while leaping around and dodging their attacks with a smile. He looks like he’s having so much fun as he fights them off, throwing up fireballs and using his elemental powers to send them flying. It looks even better than John Wick where he only uses guns – here, you can see that Yen is making use of wind powers too!

Donnie Yen’s Action-Packed John Wick
A bunch of famous Chinese actors including Chen Yuqi and Cya Liu took part in Sakra along with Ray Lui, Tsui Siu Ming Wai Ying Hung, Wu Yue, Cheung Siu Fai, Wong Kwan Hing ,Du Yuming, and Lui Leung Wai. An amazing team of action directors were brought together by Donnie Yen – Kenji Tanigaki (Snake Eyes) and Yan Hua (xXx Return of Xander Cage). Wong Jing who had already worked with some of these stars on Enter the Fat Dragon and Ip Man 3 made sure to produce this movie as well. And finally some amazingly talented writers such as Sheng Lingzhi, Zhu Wei, He Ben, Chen Li Shen Lejing, and Xu Yifan tied the entire idea together.
Yen is now famous for his role in John Wick: Chapter 4. He will fight with Keanu Reeves, who was directed by Chad Stahelski, and also the Japanese star Hiroyuki Sanada. Working with Sanada on this scene turned out to be a really cool experience and it has made the final movie even better!
