First Glimpse of Blood-Drenched ‘Cinderella’s Curse’ Horror Remake Unveiled

Fresh off their shocking reinterpretation of beloved bear Winnie the Pooh in the box office hit, Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey, the creative team at ITN Studios is gearing up to serve a chilling reimagining of the well-known fairytale, Cinderella. The studio has revealed the initial glimpses of their new project, Cinderella’s Curse, to Variety, showcasing an unsettlingly blood-soaked rendition.

Kelly Rian Sanson (She Said) leads the cast in the role of the eponymous princess. One of the released images shows her sporting traditional blonde curls, but marked with sweat, wounds, and blood. Another depicts a different blonde female hiding behind a white mask, potentially wielding a knife. The last image provides a look at a petrified Sanson, appearing horrified at an off-screen event. Altogether, the project promises to captivate those drawn to the horror genre or eager for a fresh take on classic fairy tales.

The Story Behind Cinderella’s Curse?

While most of the storyline remains a closely-guarded secret, filming has commenced in the U.K. Sanson, Chrissie Wunna (Dragon Fury), and Danielle Scott (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey) form the core of the cast, playing Cinderella, the fairy godmother, and the wicked stepmother, respectively. The ensemble cast includes Natasha Tosini, Simon Ellis, Charlotte Coleman, Matthew Baunsgard, Scott McGlynn, and others. The project springs from the creative minds of producer-director Louisa Warren and screenwriter Harry Boxley. “This is a truly unique take on the Cinderella we all cherish,” said Warren. “There will be some genuinely horrific ends at her hands. I believe that fans of gruesome horror are in for a delight with my dark reinterpretation.”
