Tom Cruise, renowned for almost single-handedly reviving cinema last year, returns once more in a highly-anticipated sequel — anticipation and excitement are skyrocketing for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The movie’s promotional campaign is in full swing, following its successful premiere in Rome last week. The movie is now showcasing its Abu Dhabi premiere, with the star-studded cast making an appearance. Amid the global promotional tour, the film’s official Twitter account has unveiled some new photos.
The freshly released images predominantly feature Cruise in motion, reflecting the trademark characteristic of his character, Ethan Hunt. Fans relish Cruise’s extensive on-screen runs in his films, and these new stills showcase him sprinting in a stadium, racing through Rome’s streets, and dashing through a candle-lit monument or church in Rome. Another image captures Hunt in a desert, perched on a camel, while a separate photo shows Rebecca Ferguson accompanying him in a scene where he’s aiming his gun at an unseen threat.

The upcoming mission presents significant challenges for our beloved IMF agent as he finds himself torn between saving the world from cataclysmic disaster and protecting those dear to him. The narrative is set to continue into Dead Reckoning Part Two, slated for release next year. In a conversation with FilmSweep at the Rome premiere, Cruise affirmed that the sequel encapsulates “all the things I love in movies,” adding:
“[It’s got] submarines, deserts, Rome, stunning locations in Abu Dhabi, Norway, a specially constructed train, thrilling train-based action, and an enthralling story with an exceptional and captivating cast. When you watch this movie, it encapsulates my view of cinema because you see this kind of cast, you see a brilliant ensemble, and the story is very engaging.”
