Mary J. Blige is a super talented singer and actress who has been making great music since the early 90s. She also appeared in different movies such as The Help, Rock of Ages, Mudbound and an episode of How to Get Away with Murder. Now she’s even producing two films on Lifetime based on her two famous songs – “Real Love” from her first album, and “Strength of a Woman” released in 2017.
Two new films are coming soon and they’re inspired by Mary J. Blige’s music! The movies will feature Ajiona Alexus (13 Reasons Why) and Da’Vinchi (All American) as two lovers going through different life experiences. One movie, called “Mary J. Blige’s Real Love,” focuses on an 18-year-old who learns about love as she starts college. She also has to deal with a surprise pregnancy! Other cast members include Princess Davis, Austin Anozie, and others. Both movies come out June 10!
In the sequel to ‘Real Love’, Mary J. Blige’s ‘Strength of a Woman’ follows Kendra who has made it big as a photographer but is going through struggles in her marriage. Ben suddenly returns after 15 years, igniting an old spark between them again. Now, Kendra must decide whether or not she will accept the love that Ben may offer and find strength within herself or let things go back to how they were before.
Mary J. Blige is known for her powerful songwriting as well as her acting talents. In 2017, she acted in a movie called “Mudbound” where she played a character named Florence Jackson. This role earned Blige lots of recognition: she won the Hollywood Film Award for Best Breakout Actress and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for Best Supporting Actress. She was also nominated for several other awards such as an Academy Award and the Critics’ Choice Movie Award, both in one movie alone!
