‘Peaky Blinders’ Scribe Steven Knight to Take Over Mysterious ‘Star Wars’ Film After Damon Lindelof’s Exit

by admin

This week has been crazy for Star Wars film fans! We found out that Damon Lindelof and Justin Britt-Gibson were not going to write their planned new Star Wars movie, but Variety reported recently that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will be taking over the project and working on a new story set in a galaxy far, far away.

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, the director of Ms. Marvel was announced to be directing a new movie back in October with Lindelof and Britt-Gibson writing the script. We don’t know much about this new project yet, but we do know that it will take place after The Rise of Skywalker which makes it the first movie that falls into that time period and is ‘canon.’ This means it’s official unlike some other movies set after The Rise of Skywalker like LEGO specials.

Knight looks like the perfect person to take on this project at such an early stage. He already has a lot of experience telling big stories, like he did with the show Peaky Blinders. Recently, he also showed his skill in creating something based on someone else’s work – his adaptation of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations got some amazing reviews by FilmSweep’s Maggie Lovitt.

Experience the Star Wars Universe

Right now, there are a lot of Star Wars shows on TV. The Mandalorian and The Bad Batch are the ones that are currently airing on Disney+. Other new series based from Mando-verse like Ahsoka and Skeleton Crew will soon come out as well. Moreover, Visions’ second season is arriving this Spring while Andor Season 2 is expected to be released in the future.

Right now, there’s not much information about the up and coming project. However, if you want to pass the time we suggest that you watch The Mandalorian — an amazing Star Wars show! Every Wednesday new episodes are released on Disney+. Below is a link to our interview with Pedro Pascal if you’d like to learn more about it.
