This scene is so captivating that it’s bound to make you reach for the pause button when watching at home. The screen is brimming with a multitude of Spider-folk, and it will take months to fully absorb all the details.

The creative team behind the film has recently shed light on the number of characters involved in the scene. Spider-Hand?!

In an interview with Empire Magazine, Justin K. Thompson, one of the three directors of Across The Spider-Verse, shared that there were more than 600 different iterations of Spider-characters featured in the scene.

If we consider the entire sequence, there are approximately 630 different spiders. Initially, I proposed having a Peter Parkedcar, resembling a Hanna Barbera cartoon, Thompson revealed.

Joaquim Dos Santos, Thompson’s co-director alongside Kemp Powers, added:

“We even considered introducing one of the Toy-Biz Spider-Man toys, who would have a gigantic kid’s hand that would appear off-screen to hold him,” Dos Santos explained. “While we wanted Spider Society to have humorous elements like Bag-Man, when Miles arrived, we wanted the audience to be in awe of this place. It had to evoke a cool and emotional response.”
