A24 has released a new video to show the making of Beau Is Afraid, a scary movie from famous horror director Ari Aster. The movie will take viewers through interesting journeys starting from the character’s birth and ending in their death, with actor Joaquin Phoenix playing all different ages of the main character.
Aster, the director of the featurette, has been thinking about this movie for ten years! We don’t have all the details about this movie yet. It’s called “Beau Is Afraid,” and it’s related to Aster’s short film from 2011 which was about someone who was too scared to leave his apartment but kept calling his mother. In Beau Is Afraid, Phoenix’s character is trying to get to his mom’s house while some crazy and strange stuff happens in the way. As Aster described it: “It’s like a Jewish Lord of the Rings – but with just one person going to find his mom!”

Even though director Aster is popular for his creepy movies Midsommar and Hereditary, he actually made a few funny shorts before his first feature film. We don’t know yet what Beau Is Afraid will be ’cause all we have heard from the creator so far is that it will be really large with lots of details in it – like a story taking you through someone’s life. But until it gets released in theaters, we won’t know what kind of scares are hiding within.

Broadway Stars Unite in the Upcoming Blockbuster, “Beau Is Afraid”!
The cast of the movie Beau Is Afraid features some highly famous people from Broadway, like Nathan Lane (Only Murders in the Building) and Pattie LuPone (American Horror Story). Other actors in this movie include Amy Ryan (from The Office), Kylie Rogers (Home Before Dark), Parker Posey (Lost in Space), Stephen McKinley Henderson (from Dune), Denis Ménochet (The French Dispatch), Hayley Squires (In the Earth), Michael Gandolfini (The Many Saints of Newark). Lastly, Zoe Lister-Jones is directing this amazing film.
