The Super Mario Bros. Movie made a huge splash when it came out last week and it was even more successful this week! This movie based on the famous animated video game has made an estimated $87 million this weekend, which is even higher than expected!

Super Mario’s release has already made $347.8 million in the United States and $678 million worldwide, all within a fortnight. When it opened up on Wednesday, it earned an amazing $204 million which set the record for being the highest-grossing video game film and also the most successful movie released this year. In fact, Super Mario is now considered one of the most profitable movies since last week when it easily beat out Warcraft ($439 million) to become the number one video game adaptation at global box offices.

The new movie, Super Mario, is making a huge success at the box office and stars Chris Pratt and Charlie Day. It’s made by Illumination and it’s on track to become their third film to make over $1 billion around the world!

This week, some new movies were released and the results weren’t so good. The second best was a horror movie called ‘The Pope’s Exorcist’. It features Russell Crowe playing Father Gabriele Amorth who reportedly did many exorcisms in his life. Julius Avery directed it and it made around 9.1 million on its opening weekend.

This weekend, the movie John Wick: Chapter 4 came in at third place, earning about $7.9 million. This means it’s made around $160 million in total so far! People really like this action-packed sequel, and they think that maybe there might be another installment and spinoffs coming soon. Its star, Keanu Reeves, should be proud because his film has been seen across the world and made over $300 million globally. It looks like John Wick 4 will be the most popular movie in the franchise!

John Wick 4 beat out the horror comedy movie Renfield this week, starring Nicolas Cage. Unfortunately, Renfield didn’t do too well at the box office and only brought in an estimated $7.7 million during its opening weekend. Ben Affleck’s Air came in fourth place with $33 million earned at home. Suzume got an estimated $5 million here but it has made over $250 million globally! Lastly, Beau is Afraid topped off at being the highest-grossing film since 2019’s Uncut Gems by making a great debut in four theaters in New York and Los Angeles.
