In the 1980s, horror movies were huge. Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees and Freddy Krueger lead the way in an explosion of sequels. Stephen King’s books also got their turn on screen. The Shining, Pet Semetary, Cujo, Children of the Corn, Firestarter and Christine were all adapted into horror films. One that isn’t talked about much is Maximum Overdrive from 1986. Vestron Video has putout a special Blu-raysteelbook edition for us horror movie fans to have!
The steelbook comes with special poster artwork that wraps around it. This includes a picture of a big spooky truck with a Green Goblin mask — the same bad guy from the movie Maximum Overdrive. He was inspired by the character Spider-Man released in 2002, making this version super cool!
Vestron Video, which is owned by Lionsgate, has released a special edition of the film. They are known for releasing rare horror movies on Blu-ray which have never been released before such as Silent Night, Deadly Night sequels and Candyman 3: Day of the Dead. Already, there have been 29 films in this small line and Maximum Overdrive was number 16. This release will also come with AC/DC’s soundtrack and two more hours of cool bonuses!

It’s not as good compared to other films like Shine or Carrie, but it has its own special attributes that make it unique and exciting. Stephen King directed this movie and even though this is the only film he ever made, he did his best to create something thrilling and enjoyable with friends if you watch it together.
