ZOOMING IN
A Haunting in Venice is the latest adaptation of an Agatha Christie masterpiece, featuring the ever-popular detective Hercule Poirot, but this time with an added paranormal element. The film presents a stunning ensemble of actors such as Kenneth Branagh, Michelle Yeoh, Tina Fey, and Jaime Dornan. Branagh pulls double duty as the protagonist Poirot and the director of the movie, maintaining his roles from previous Christie adaptations like Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile.
A chilling fog settles over a fresh poster for 20th Century Studios’ forthcoming Agatha Christie film adaptation, A Haunting in Venice. Once again at the heart of the enigma is the globally acclaimed sleuth, Hercule Poirot (Kenneth Branagh), seen taking a central position on a gondola coursing through Venice’s canals. A menacing presence with a masked face navigates the vessel through the poorly lit waterways of the iconic Italian city. The detective and his eerie guide are encircled by the primary cast of characters and suspects on a bridge above the canal.
Launching just for the Halloween season, A Haunting in Venice marks a deviation from the standard Christie adaptations seen on the silver screen. Inspired by the esteemed author’s book, Hallowe’en Party, this novel twist will see Hercule Poirot confront dangers not just among the living but also of a supernatural nature. Set on Halloween night in the aftermath of WWII, the renowned detective comes out of seclusion and retirement to attend a séance in a haunted palazzo. Staying true to Christie’s suspenseful narratives, one of the attendees meets a premature end at the event, triggering Hercule Poirot’s investigative instincts to solve the mystery.
Consistent with previous reinterpretations of Christie’s novels for the big screen, A Haunting in Venice assembles a formidable cast of high-profile Hollywood stars. In addition to Branagh, the movie will showcase performances from Michelle Yeoh (Everything Everywhere All at Once), Tina Fey (30 Rock), Kelly Reilly (Yellowstone), Jaime Dornan (Belfast), Emma Laird (Mayor of Kingstown), Kyle Allen (Rosaline), Jude Hill (Belfast), Riccardo Scamarcio (John Wick: Chapter 2), Camille Cottin (House of Gucci), and Ali Khan (The School for Good and Evil).

The Team Behind A Haunting in Venice?
Kenneth Branagh continues his legacy not only as the beloved detective Hercule Poirot but also returns as the director of the film, a dual role he held for Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile. Rejoining him for the third installment in the Christie series is Michael Green, the consistent scribe for each screenplay. The entire production team, comprising Ridley Scott, Simon Kinberg, Judy Hoggman, Mark Gordon, and James Prichard, returns, with Louise Killin joining as an executive producer.
Embark on the gondola in the poster below and unravel the mystery with Hercule Poirot when A Haunting in Venice sails into theaters on September 15.
