Ray Fisher Transforms into a Fierce Warrior in New ‘Rebel Moon’ Snapshot

Empire Magazine has exclusively shared a fresh glimpse of the forthcoming film, introducing Ray Fisher in the role of a warrior armed with a colossal gun, primed for any impending challenge.

“It’s colossal,” Fisher revealed to Empire Magazine, speaking of his in-movie firearm. “It spans four feet. Almost my height.” More insights into his character remain hidden for now. However, the snapshot reveals him donned in warpaint, a visceral desire for combat evident in his demeanor. It’s a sharp deviation from his earlier portrayal of an unseasoned, young Cyborg in Justice League. Fisher’s new character, aptly named Darrian Bloodaxe, will borrow from timeless cinema, like Seven Samurai, which Snyder previously mentioned as an inspiration for Rebel Moon’s plotline.

“I’ve imbibed the essence of the Seven Samurai,” Fisher commented. “I mimicked specific poses I hold with my weapon after Toshirô Mifune, who carries his katana in a distinctive over-the-shoulder manner. Sometimes before a take, I’d murmur to myself, ‘Mifune.’” Bloodaxe is set to be one among the ensemble in this forthcoming blockbuster from the iconic director, with Fisher sharing screen space with Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, and Charlie Hunnam, among others.
