THE MAIN SCENE
Fans of the slash-fest Terrifier series got a stocking stuffed with mayhem this season as the re-release of Terrifier 2 not only haunted screens but also heralded the arrival of the Terrifier 3 campaign with a hauntingly festive first poster and a teaser trailer brimming with yuletide terror. Art the Clown, everyone’s favorite harbinger of doom, is coming to town with a sack of sinister surprises this Christmas Eve in Terrifier 3, which promises to delve into the mysterious ties between Sienna Shaw and the infamous clown, harking back to the original’s more sinister vibes. Mark your calendars for a ghoulish gift on October 25, 2024, when Terrifier 3 slashes its way into theaters.

A Halloween season delight morphed into a full-blown Christmas nightmare with the recent re-release of Terrifier 2. Art the Clown didn’t just return; he brought a horrific holiday party with him. Those who witnessed the event were the first to lay eyes on the initial poster for Terrifier 3 and were treated to a glimpse of the chilling Christmas-themed teaser trailer. Keeping the holiday spirit disturbingly alive, Damian Leone, the maestro of Terrifier’s madness as creator, director, writer, and visual effects guru, bestowed upon fans the first sneak peek at Art’s holiday horror show.

Late into the night on Friday, Leone shared a behind-the-scenes snapshot on Instagram featuring himself alongside David Howard Thornton, the man behind Art’s monstrous grin. True to Terrifier’s gruesome style, the setting was a splattered canvas of crimson, with Art’s signature written in blood on the wall. Yet amidst the carnage, Art delivered twisted holiday joy, decked out in a full Santa outfit (fingers crossed for Santa’s well-being) while indulging in a Christmas cookie and milk. Leone joined the gory festivities, sporting a festive Terrifier tee and wielding a candy-red axe. Art is set to turn the holiday season upside down, making the Grinch’s antics seem like acts of kindness.

The finer threads of Terrifier 3’s plot are kept under wraps, but rest assured, Art the Clown will be back to spread chaos among the oblivious dwellers of Miles County on the night before Christmas. The film welcomes back Thornton and Lauren LaVera, reprising their roles as the malevolent Art and the cherished survivor Sienna Shaw. Audiences are on the edge of their seats to unravel the connection between Sienna’s past and Art’s terrorizing spree. With Leone hinting at a return to the first film’s darker essence, anticipation is building. And while the movie’s premiere is a grim wait away, fans can already catch the slasher Christmas vibe with merchandise available for pre-order from Terror Threads.

seriously, how cool is it that they’re doing a darker tone again? the first film was so raw and terrifying, glad theyre going back to that instead of just jump scares and cheap thrills.

Saw the BTS pic on Instagram, the practical effects look unreal! That’s one thing I love about these films, the gore is so well done. Props to Damian Leone and the VFX team, these guys know what they’re doing.

is it just me or is the terrifier series just rehashing old slasher tropes? I mean, Christmas horror has been done to death, no pun intended. Let’s hope they actually have some new scares this time around.

Man i dunno about this, every horror franchise seems to jump the shark with a holiday theme at some point, I just hope Art keeps it brutal and doesn’t go soft on us cuz of some Christmas spirit nonsense.
