What’s In Store for ‘The Nun II’?
The stage for The Nun II is a French school where not only students are at risk, but even a priest gets offed, perpetuating a story arc that started in the original Conjuring film. Here, Maurice, also known as Frenchie, was previously possessed by none other than Valak. Clips from his exorcism were showcased two decades later in Ed and Lorraine Warren’s creepy educational sessions. This new teaser has catapulted fan excitement into the stratosphere, as they’re eager to see how The Nun will weave into the larger tapestry of The Conjuring universe.
At the helm of this horror ship is director Michael Chaves, with a screenplay penned by Akela Cooper, Ian Goldberg, and Richard Naing, based on an original narrative by Cooper. The cast includes returning stars like Farmiga reprising her role as Sister Irene, Bonnie Aarons once again donning the nun’s habit, and Jonas Bloquet returning as Frenchie. Fresh faces in the franchise include Storm Reid as a novice nun, Anna Popplewell as Kate, and Katelyn Rose Downey as Sophie. The film’s production squad brings back industry heavyweights James Wan and Peter Safran as co-producers, while Judson Scott serves as another producer.
Mark those calendars, because The Nun II is gearing up for a theatrical bow on September 8. For those who can’t wait, the just-released teaser is available for your viewing (dis)pleasure below.
