THE OVERALL SCENARIO
Spider-Man’s accomplished writer Dan Slott has recently made public that it was his idea to link The Spot’s character to the previous film Into the Spider-Verse, introducing a fascinating alteration to the villain’s backstory.
In the latest animated installment, Miles Morales finds himself confronting The Spot, initially disregarding him as a true antagonist due to his inexperience. As events unfold, The Spot’s strength surges, transforming into a grave danger to Miles and Gwen.
Additionally, Miles must navigate conflict with Miguel O’Hara, relying on his wit and allies to triumph over these formidable foes.

Several weeks after the release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, a seasoned Spider-Man writer disclosed that he was the creative mind behind The Spot’s (portrayed by Jason Schwartzman) tie-in to the original film Into the Spider-Verse. Dan Slott, a prominent figure at Marvel with decades of comic book writing experience, took to social media to inform fans that he had proposed the idea of The Spot being revealed as the scientist struck by a bagel in Into the Spider-Verse. This unexpected twist connects the villain closely to Miles Morales (voiced by Shameik Moore), adding a complex layer to the young protagonist’s journey.

In the recent hit animated sequel, Miles is thriving as Brooklyn’s beloved superhero until he crosses paths with The Spot, a character he initially underestimates due to the villain’s inexperience. However, The Spot’s belief that Spider-Man was the cause of his plight fuels a relentless quest for revenge. As the tale progresses, The Spot’s power grows tremendously, forcing Miles and Gwen (voiced by Hailee Steinfeld) to recognize the previously unforeseen danger he presents.

Moreover, Miles also has to contend with Miguel O’Hara (voiced by Oscar Isaac), who challenges the young Spider-Man’s place in the expansive multiverse. Facing two potent adversaries, Miles draws on his intellect and friendships to persevere.
