Marvel Studios has unveiled the second trailer for The Marvels, readying spectators for a fresh adventure that introduces several of the latest additions to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani) find themselves entangled in a puzzle concerning their potent powers, induced by a new nemesis (Zawe Ashton). It’s their responsibility to unravel this mystery before they’re caught up in a predicament they can’t manage.
Following the events of WandaVision and Ms. Marvel, the trailer discloses that the triad quickly discerns that each usage of their powers triggers a swap amongst them. Essentially, if one of them employs their abilities, all three are instantly transported into unfamiliar scenarios without prior notice. To regain control of the situation, the superheroes must remain together while they decipher the cause behind their erratic powers and devise a solution that will allow them to resume their normal lives.
Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), another notable character from the MCU, is slated to return in The Marvels, still grappling with the aftermath of the recent Secret Invasion. In the present conspiracy plot streaming on Disney+, the erstwhile director of S.H.I.E.L.D. joins forces with Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) to thwart a massive Skrull invasion of the planet. These agents have been replacing key individuals worldwide to manipulate Earth’s norms to suit their agenda. If not unmasked soon, the extent of their influence remains uncertain.
