‘Resident Evil: Death Island’ follows the Prime continuity and is set between Capcom’s Resident Evil 6 and Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, taking place in the year 2015. The story continues after the events of ‘Resident Evil: Vendetta’ (2017), where Jill Valentine (voiced by Nicole Tompkins) from the original game joins forces with Chris Redfield (Kevin Dorman) to confront a fresh outbreak in San Francisco caused by a mysterious new T-Virus. At the same time, Claire Redfield (Stephanie Panisello) is on a mission with TerraSave to investigate an orca attack, leading to the discovery of traces of the T-Virus. Separately, Leon Kennedy (Matthew Mercer) is assigned by the DSO to rescue a kidnapped scientist holding vital information. When BSAA agent Rebecca Chambers (Erin Cahill) uncovers a connection between the San Francisco killings and Alcatraz, Chris and Jill head to the isolated island. There, their paths intersect with Leon and Claire, bringing together the core heroes in an epic movie adaptation for the very first time.

The early screening will be held at a special location in LA on Wednesday, July 12, at 7:30 pm. If the opportunity to witness this ultimate Resident Evil team-up on the big screen isn’t enough, the post-screening Q&A will be an event not to be missed. Joining the discussion will be director Eiichirô Hasumi, writer and producer Makoto Fukami, Capcom’s Masachika Kawata, and the talented voice actors for Leon and Jill, Matthew Mercer and Nicole Tompkins respectively. Nicole Tompkins is also known for her portrayal of Valentine in 2020’s ‘Resident Evil 3.’

Meet the Creators of ‘Resident Evil: Death Island’

Director Hasumi, who previously helmed the Netflix miniseries ‘Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness’ (2021), returns alongside writer Fukami, known for his work on ‘Resident Evil: Vendetta,’ for this direct sequel to Leon’s encounter with the aftermath of Raccoon City’s notorious Umbrella Corporation. Just like the previous CG films and the miniseries, Capcom has been actively involved in the development of ‘Death Island’ to ensure character consistency and maintain the overarching continuity of the animated franchise, setting it apart from the live-action horror saga featuring Milla Jovovich. This fifth installment not only marks Valentine’s animated series debut but also brings together the beloved original game characters in a thrilling movie adaptation.
