During the interview, Gadot discussed the contrast between playing the villain and her previous roles. She remarked, “Playing the Evil Queen was an absolute delight. There was something so delicious about this character, being part of a fairy tale and embodying the first Disney villain.” The animated version of Snow White, released back in 1937, marked Disney’s inaugural animated feature film. Lucille La Verne provided the voice for the Evil Queen in the original animated film. Gadot also delved into how the musical nature of the movie influenced her portrayal of the character. She elaborated, “The musical aspect allowed me to push my performance to new dramatic heights, infusing it with animated flair. It was truly delightful, experimenting with different voices and approaches. I had a blast and can’t wait for audiences to witness it.”

In addition to Gadot, Rachel Zegler will star as Snow White in the film. In the animated version, the Evil Queen was Snow White’s stepmother, voiced by Adriana Caselotti. Driven by jealousy, the villain plotted to kill Snow White after her magic mirror, voiced by Moroni Olsen, proclaimed the young princess as the “fairest of them all.” Discovering Snow White’s whereabouts, the Evil Queen disguised herself as an old woman and offered the innocent princess a poisoned apple. Joining the cast, Martin Klebba will portray Grumpy, one of the memorable seven dwarfs, initially distrustful of Snow White. Pinto Colvig lent his voice to the character in the original animated film. Andrew Burnap will also feature in the movie as an original character. Marc Webb, acclaimed director of The Amazing Spider-Man films starring Andrew Garfield, will helm the live action adaptation.
