During a recent discussion with Perri Nemiroff from FilmSweep, Curtis revealed an unexpected detail about her character’s personality – she’s a huge Real Housewives fan. While such a predilection may seem odd for a character associated with a supernatural narrative, Curtis shared her perspective on the intriguing characteristic:
“She’s glued to all the Real Housewives shows, from Beverly Hills to New York to Atlanta. She’s probably binging on them. I reckon she’s quite a binge-watcher. I mean, I’m okay on my own for a while, but she’s been there for a hundred years. I believe reality TV is her thing.”
Living within a crystal ball, Madame Leota’s fate is not the most distressing among the inhabitants of the haunted house. In Justin Simien’s forthcoming family adventure, the character Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) seeks a fresh start for her and her children. Considering Leota has spent a century inside a crystal ball with little to do, her fascination with a reality show featuring well-heeled women engaging with one another is hardly surprising. However, Leota’s Real Housewives binge-watching sessions will be interrupted when Gabbie and her family move into the mansion. Leota will need to collaborate with other supernatural entities, like the Hatbox Ghost (Jared Leto), to either terrify the new inhabitants into leaving or ensnare them within the mansion they initially thought would be their dream home.
