Although Lawrence won’t be involved in the upcoming installment, “The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes,” slated for release later this year, her portrayal of Katniss left an indelible mark on a generation of young readers who eagerly delved into the novels after witnessing her performance. The upcoming film is a prequel set decades before Katniss’s birth, thus excluding her character.
