‘PSYCHO-PASS: Providence’ Unveils English Dub Trailer and Theatrical Release Date

While shōnen anime like One Piece often dominate discussions when it comes to animated series targeted at teenage audiences, a journey through the world of anime reveals the immense narrative power that Japanese animation possesses. Among these compelling works is PSYCHO-PASS: Providence, a celebrated animation that recently revealed its English dubbed trailer and confirmed its North American release date through Crunchyroll.

PSYCHO-PASS: Providence commemorates the ten-year anniversary of the anime series and continues to delve into the dark tale that the franchise has weaved. Set in a future where advanced technology allows the identification of potential criminals even before they can commit a crime, the story sheds light on the unsettling nature of the crimes that still manage to occur, exposing flaws within the surveillance system of society known as Sibyl.

Naoyoshi Shiotani, known for his work on notable titles such as Spirited Away and Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, assumes the directorial role for PSYCHO-PASS: Providence. Shiotani is no stranger to the world of PSYCHO-PASS, having directed more than half of the episodes of the anime series, as well as the subsequent movie and specials. Tow Ubukata, the creator of the original anime series, collaborates with Makoto Fukami (Berserk, Blade of the Immortal) in penning the script for PSYCHO-PASS: Providence.

North American theaters are set to premiere PSYCHO-PASS: Providence on July 14, preceded by special advanced fan sneak peek showings on July 11 (English dub) and July 13 (Japanese with English subtitles).
