Peter Dinklage, who is greatly missed by Game of Thrones fans after his iconic portrayal of Tyrion Lannister, has kept himself quite active post the HBO series. As revealed to FilmSweep during a press tour for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, fans can look forward to seeing a fresh facet of the actor’s talent.
In a discussion with our Editor-in-Chief Steve Weintraub, Dinklage discussed his forthcoming movie, ‘Brothers,’ where he will co-star with Josh Brolin, popular for his role in Avengers: Endgame. Dinklage unveiled that the inspiration for the film emerged from a particularly amusing situation. Though details about the movie are sparse, we know that Dinklage and Brolin will be portraying siblings, a concept that Dinklage thinks adds to the overall amusement:

“I enjoy maintaining secrecy about projects because it’s more exciting that way. In my youth, we had no idea what a C-3PO was until we saw it on screen and it was astounding! Nowadays, too many details about a film are revealed beforehand – not that ‘Brothers’ is ‘Star Wars.’ But the fact is, Josh and I are playing siblings in this movie, and the genesis of this concept was a friend’s humorous remark that ‘you and Dinklage both have sizeable heads, you should be brothers in a film.’ Brolin rang me up with this idea and I was immediately on board. I thought, ‘Sure, films have been created with fewer ideas than that, and it’s spot-on!’ I’ve always admired Josh’s work.”

Within the same interview, Dinklage unveiled that ‘Brothers’ is a comedy, allowing him to flex his comedic muscles on screen. Though Dinklage has explored comedy previously, ‘Brothers,’ with a story by Etan Cohen (Idiocracy, Tropic Thunder), could likely take his performance to surprising new heights. The film’s cast includes Brendan Fraser (The Whale), Glenn Close (Tehran), Taylour Page (Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom), and Joshua Mikel (The Walking Dead). The script is penned by Macon Blair (Reservation Dogs), with direction by Max Barbakow (Palm Springs).
