Vin Diesel Teases the Release Date of ‘Fast X Part 2’

Hold on tight, because the final stretch is just beginning. Following the explosive climax of the Fast and Furious saga with Fast X, there’s still plenty more to come, although perhaps not as soon as fans had hoped. According to Vin Diesel himself, the second installment of the Fast X trilogy is expected to hit theaters on April 4, 2025.

Vin Diesel took to Instagram to share a photo of himself alongside Jason Momoa, who played the villain in Fast X. In the caption, Diesel wrote, “April 4th, 2025… is less than 22 months away. I’m thrilled by the passion and collaboration of all the actors in our franchise as we dive into the World’s Saga. Jason wanted to bring something unique and special to the table, and he ended up creating a scene-stealing character that the world won’t forget. Thank you all for your continuous support… Having 7 billion fans means nothing if it doesn’t embody the true spirit of family and loyalty. For those who didn’t realize that Fast X was only part one, get ready for an unparalleled effort from our fast family and the studio in part two. All love…”

In additional posts, Diesel shared two mockup images. One depicted two exhausted women in the Arctic, hinting at Letty (played by Michelle Rodriguez) and Cipher (played by Charlize Theron), who were last seen attempting to escape capture in Baltic conditions. The second image showed one of the women gazing at a helicopter landing, suggesting a potentially epic rescue mission.

What Happened in Fast X?

Diesel’s announcement follows the recent release of Fast X, where Dom and his family face their most dangerous adversary yet—Dante, portrayed by Jason Momoa. Dante is a merciless and unpredictable character, the son of drug lord Hernan Reyes (Joaquim de Almeida), who was killed by Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) in Fast Five. After a series of intense confrontations, Dante manages to eliminate one of Dom’s beloved family members, while Dom’s son narrowly escapes—for now. The film concludes with Dom protecting his son from another attack by Dante, as they stand together in a desolate area. As mentioned in Vin Diesel’s post, Dante plays a crucial role in rejuvenating the Fast X story, introducing a darker and more uncertain future for the family. Not only does Dante hold personal grudges against all of them, but he also turns them into public enemy number one, with their faces plastered across the world. In other words, when there’s nowhere to run, their only option is to hide or, in this case, drive.
