In the new trailer for the forthcoming crime thriller, Inside Man, Emile Hirsch is seen adopting a heavy New York accent as he delves into an undercover role. He stars with Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars, who too, sports an interesting tristate area accent. Directed by Danny A. Abeckaser, known for his work in The Irishman and Lansky, the movie is based on the real-life tale of a New York City cop who dared to infiltrate the infamous Gambino crime family during the tumultuous times of the 1960s and 1970s.

The trailer showcases Hirsch’s character, Bobby Belucci, narrating his life in a manner reminiscent of Goodfellas. As the plot unfolds, we discover that Belucci is not in good standing with the police department. He contrives a plan to join one of the legendary five crime families and dismantle them from within. Entry into the mob is seemingly effortless for Belucci, but his real challenges lie in maintaining his position and staying alive. His moral compass gets tested as he tries to deceive the mob, while the police become suspicious of his intentions, potentially putting him in harm’s way. His life takes another turn when he becomes romantically involved with Hale’s character, a bartender at the Gambino family’s regular hangout.
In addition to directing, Abeckaser also plays the role of the mafia’s main assassin, Roy DeMeo. The film boasts an ensemble cast including Ashley Greene from the Twilight franchise, Jake Cannavale (Nurse Jackie), Vincent Laresca (Juice), Kyle Stefanski (Gotti), Greg Finley (The Secret Life of the American Teenager), and Bo Dietl. The script for this mob-focused thriller was written by Kosta Kondilopoulos, who previously collaborated with Abeckaser on the 2021 crime romance, I Love Us.
