Ethan Hunt and his Impossible Mission Force team seem to be coming back to their past in order to confront the future. This is obvious with the latest announcement for casting in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part II.
Tom Cruise is going to act one last time as the secret agent ‘Hunt’ and Rolf Saxon is joining him in this role. Director Christopher McQuarrie revealed this big news on social media, just like he recently did when Hannah Waddingham joined the cast of Dead Reckoning Part Two!
Saxon is an actor who acted as a CIA analyst called William Donloe in 1996’s Mission: Impossible movie. In this film, Saxon’s character gets poisoned by other members of the team (IMF) so they could get into a very secure CIA vault and grab a list of names of all undercover agents (NOC list) across the world.
Donloe lost his job because Ethan Hunt couldn’t protect a list. Now, Donloe is back from living in a cold place in Alaska so he can thank Hunt for ruining his life. Saxon, too, is coming back to the series which hasn’t happened since 1996!
The film Mission: Impossible will have director Eugene Kittridge in it, played by Henry Czerny. At first, he believes Ethan Hunt (played by Tom Cruise) is the one responsible for a mission gone wrong and accuses him of being a spy. To clear his name, Cruise must find out the real person behind this mess. Alanna Mitsopolis (Vanessa Kirby), who is the daughter of Max Monsopolis (Vanessa Redgrave), was also part of this. The movie is directed and written by McQuarrie and has people like Cruise, Saxon, Czerny, Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Pom Klementieff and Shea Whigham as part of its cast.
The plot of Dead Reckoning movie is still a mystery at this point, so many fans are excited to find out what’s going to happen next. This is mainly because the first trailer of Dead Reckoning was released alongside Cruise’s Top Gun: Maverick and it was very successful. Other than that, expectations for Dead Reckoning have been high since Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation and Mission Impossible: Fallout were both huge hits. Everyone thinks that Mission Impossible: Fallout became one of top action films ever made!
